ILC Workshop in Kinshasa (DR Congo) |
Two ILC workshops were held in Kinshasa at the end of May, with the help of the WWICS and ESSEC IRENE. The first one was a follow-up workshop after the 23th of March Agreement signed between Government and the CNDP. It gathered members of the congolese government, of the CNDP and people from other armed groups. The second workshop dealt with the security situation in Eastern DRC in the context of renewed bilateral relations between Rwanda and the DRC. It gathered 20 influential congolese leaders.
Both workshops were lead by Michel Noureddine Kassa and Aurélien Colson, with the help of Nathalie Jackson (WWICS / ILC), Nathalie Klein (ESSEC IRENE) and the ILC local team. |
ILCCE Workshop in Katanga (DR Congo) |

After three years of workshops in the Kivus and for the central level in Kinshasa, the ILCCE launched a regional dynamic in Katanga, with the support of Katanga's Governor. Organized with the help of the WWICS and ESSEC IRENE, the first workshop was held at the end of April 2009, gathering major political and economic decision-makers and civil society leaders from Katanga.

In March, ESSEC IRENE trainer Fahimeh Robiolle went to Beyrut to teach negotiation tools and mediation bases to the DESS of law Students. This training was highly appreciated. During her stay in Beyrut, Fahimeh Robiolle could also visit some Palestinian Refugee Camps.

The InterGovernmental Agency on Development (IGAD), based on Djibouti, is in charge of monitoring Peace Building missions in the Horn of Africa, and keeping peace among its memberstates (Ethiopia, Sudan, Kenya, Djibouti, Uganda and Erytrea). It reached for ESSEC IRENE to lead a negotiation and mediation training for all its executive staff, with the support of the GTZ and the European Comission. This training was led by Dr. Aurelien Colson, director of IRENE at the end of March 2009.
