As part of IGAD’s CPMR programme (Conflict Prevention, Management and Resolution), ESSEC IRÉNÉ organized a capacity building workshop for several Eastern African Organizations. This meeting, which took place from March 18th to 21st in Quatre Bornes (Mauritius) within the premises of the IOC (Indian Ocean Commission), gathered representatives from IGAD (InterGovernmental Authority for Development), IOC, African Union, EAC (East African Community), COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) and UNECA (United Nations Economic Commission for Africa).
The 27 participants, conflict prevention specialists, exchanged views on their own previous experiences and acquired common mediation and negotiation methods. They also shared ideas on how to continue towards a reinforced cooperation after this successful first move.
Prof. Aurélien Colson, Dr Aziza Akhmouch and Nathalie Klein supervised this workshop.
