Exploratory Mission in Jordan with the European Union and the Arab League

On May 26 & 27, ESSEC IRÉNÉ was invited by the European Union to take part in discussions with the Arab League in Amman, Jordan. 14 member states of the League as well as 25 civil servants from the Commission, EU member states, the United Nations, and the USA attended this event. This conference aimed at developing regional collaboration against the proliferation of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons. Participants agreed to create a regional centre of excellence, in order to develop a common culture on such a sensitive issue. ESSEC IRÉNÉ could help support this process by facilitating exchanges between member states of the Arab League. It could for example lead a capacity building mission to reinforce negotiation/mediation/leadership skills, which can be useful in such a sensitive area, spanning from security to development issues.
