ESSEC IRÉNÉ organized EPLO General Assembly in Paris on May 20th & 21st |

On May 20&21, ESSEC IRÉNÉ welcomed and organized EPLO’s General Assembly in Paris, for the first time in France. A meeting of the steering committee members took place on the first morning. Then all member organizations were invited to a meeting with French authorities. Several French organizations interested in EPLO’s activities also attended that meeting, which was organized at the Palais du Luxembourg, thanks to Senator Cambon’s support. The theme of the meeting was “Towards a European Policy on Peacebuilding: France’s Vision, the Role of Civil Society”. A first rountable focused on France’s vision about conflict prevention and peace building and the role of civil society. The second one was about France’s vision regarding the role and design of the European External Action Service.

On May 21st, the General Assembly took place in Cergy, on ESSEC Campus. This working session was opened by Pierre Tapie, Director General of ESSEC Group. It focused on EPLO’s activities: conferences, working groups, and so on, since last GA in November 2009. Moreover, Simon Gray (Saferworld) and Aurélien Colson (Director of ESSEC IRÉNÉ) were elected members of EPLO’s Steering Committee. |
