Each day most people and a majority of organizations are engaged in situations
of disagreement, and therefore, conflict. When the cost of pursuing this conflict becomes too high for one of the parties involved, or the risk of escalation too great, the protagonist will try to resolve
the conflict.
Whether we are students, managers or public figures, everyone comes to the same conclusion. Each person knows he or she must function within an organization where relations of conflict (inter or intra-organizational) exist and that each must acquire a number of practical
skills - those making it possible to efficiently manage differences or conflicts - just as one acquires technical skills.
It therefore seems obvious to those in charge of IRENE that training modules must be offered - for students as well as for managers - to prepare
them for handling and resolving situations
of conflict.
